Veteran TV gameshow producer Chester Feldman, who produced television gameshows ranging from “I’ve Got a Secret” to “Family Feud,” died May 25 at New York Hospital in Manhattan of complications following surgery. He was 71.
Following World War II service in the Navy, Feldman attended and graduated from the U. of Missouri with a degree in journalism.
His career began in radio, where he produced a show for comedian Henry Morgan, and later for Faye Emerson.
He segued to television and produced “I’ve Got a Secret” for Garry Moore, which aired for 15 years.
Feldman subsequently wrote for Moore’s variety show and in 1968 produced and co-wrote Johnny Carson’s first primetime special for NBC.
In recent years, Feldman served as exec producer and vice president for Mark Goodson Prods., where he helped create “Family Feud,” “Card Sharks,” “Match Game” and “Classic Concentration.”

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda, a son, a daughter and three grandchildren.
Family suggests donations in Feldman’s name to the Fresh Air Fund or to Citymeals-On-Wheels.
