If you're not still finding hints of sparkle on your skin weeks later, did you even go to a festival?
Whether you're heading to Coachella, Tomorrowland, Bestival or just plan on holding a dance party in your backyard, glitter is the must-have festival beauty accessory that takes the best highlighter to new heights.
From crazy trends like glitter booty to subtler glitter makeup looks, here's how to pull it off (and take it off) like a total pro...
FOR MESS-FREE APPLICATION
Loose pigments are a recipe for tent-floor disaster. So if you're planning on sleeping in there for a week, use a brush to minimise mess.
Sophia from Go Get Glitter suggests applying your adhesive first and then dabbing the glitter on top with a brush. "The glitter will stick immediately and there won't be much fall-out."
While most of us have probably used some kind of lip balm or cream already in our kits to make the glitter stick, Sophia says this is a recipe for dancefloor disaster.
"It will be smeared halfway down your face as soon as you step into that sweaty moshpit."
Instead, go for a hypoallergic and stronger-hold product like Glitter Fix, £12, Go Get Glitter. "It's long-lasting and stays (even with sweat)", says Sophia.
CHOOSING YOUR LOOK
It's only human to want to fill your entire face with as many sparkly colours as you can, but when it comes to choosing your look, less is definitely more.
"Always use 1-2 colours max", says Sophia. "Start with the bright colour in the centre and always blend out with a lighter tone, like silver or iridescent."
Face jewels and diamantes are an option if you're unsure how to mix and match. The colour combination and where to apply is already laid out in the pack for you, so you can just stick on and go.
If you're still stuck, Sophia suggests hitting Instagram to find some looks you like.

If you're a complete glitter virgin, don't worry, if you make a mistake you can just add more. The more sparkly the better, right?
HOW TO REMOVE EVERY LAST GLITTERY BIT
The easiest way to make sure your glitter is removable is to choose an adhesive that's water soluble.
"It means you can wash it off with just water and the glue will dissolve instantly," says Sophia.
A quick tip for removing even the most stubborn of glitter residue is to use a little bit of sticky tape. Just press the sticky side gently onto the skin to remove every tiny sparkle.
It's probably not the greatest for your skin, but if you'd rather not show up to your Monday morning meeting looking like a unicorn, it can be a lifesaver.
