This Sunday Self-care Routine Will Swipe Away Last Week's Worries

Woah there! Now that was one craaaazy Monday to Friday!

It started the moment we stepped into the office, carried on at home (courtesy of our rotten mood), and then swirled into a magnificent spiral of family and friend drama. Oh, and if exhaustion wasn’t a great enough souvenir from the worst five days in existence, our throat has the telltale tickle of oncoming illness.

All we can say - from the comfort of our bed - is thank heaven it’s the weekend. Two whole days when we get the chance to swipe that slate clean, recharge and reboot, ready to tackle the fresh, shiny new week ahead.

Not going to lie, today our only plan involves a duvet, Nextflix and Deliveroo, but Sunday – oh ho, Sunday shall be the day when the self-care routine really steps up a notch!

Here’s the schedule. Oh, btw, social media and scrolling are banned for 24 hours...

9:30

Wake up slowly, open the windows, blend up a smoothie with berries and leafy greens, then pop some daily supplements and ginseng (we feel you, throat tickle).

10:00

Find an empty space for 30 minutes of yoga or meditation. Keep a full water bottle nearby.

11:00

Hair mask, face mask, body scrub and shower.

12:00

Invite 1-3 super close friends for a relaxed, home-cooked brunch. No phones allowed.

13:30

Paint each other’s nails, drink herbal tea and natter.

14:00

Hunt out some nearby green space and set out on a long walk together (dog optional, but obviously preferable).

16:00

Bid farewell to those friends and head home for a healthy snack.

17:00

Run a bath with some essential oils, light that favourite candle, put on a seriously zen playlist and grab a good book. Do not get out until toes turn wrinkly.

18:30

Pop on a fluffy dressing gown and slippers and call your parents/grandparents for a good, umm… 30 minutes? Max. Pop them on loudspeaker and change the bedding as you chat.

19:00

Prepare and consume the most magnificent multicoloured salad of your life! Resist the urge to Instagram it.

20:00

Snuggle up on the sofa, choose an uplifting and inspiring film and treat yourself to some dark chocolate and homemade popcorn.

21:30

Brush your teeth, double-cleanse, do some serious skincare sorcery and a facial massage, then sink into those freshly washed sheets.

22:00

Alarm set, few more pages of your book, and lights out!
