In 1979, an unknown Madonna Ciccone was paid $30 to pose nude for American photographer Martin H.M. Schreiber. That money went towards her dance classes but, six years later, when the singer was catapulted into stardom, Schreiber dug out the shots and sold them to Playboy, who notoriously published them in 1985. Now, 30 years on, Seven Dials in Covent Garden is hosting an anniversary exhibition of the photographs to coincide with the singer's Sticky And Sweet tour in Britain. The intimate black and white images capture the beauty, innocence and naivety of the 20-year-old Madonna, unaware of the fame that was about to come her way. Those wanting to take home a souvenir of the Material Girl can snap up an image for £3,400; while those on a more modest budget can buy exclusive badges, postcards and books from as little as £1.
